Actress Vidya Balan will be seen in five different looks in her upcoming film 'Shakuntala Devi', showcasing different stages of her life. Behind these different looks of Vidya, people like Shreyas Mhatre, Shalaka Bhonsle, and Niharika Bhasin, who had to do a lot of research to present the character in its true style.
Mhatre, who takes care of the makeup, told that he saw pictures of Shakuntala Devi and tried to match her with Vidya.
He said, “I had to design different looks in the film based on the age of Shakuntala Devi. I did research on Shakuntala Devi, looked at her pictures, and tried to match Vidya's look with her face. After much discussion with Vidya and the director, I finalized these five looks. "

Shalaka Bhonsle told IANS that the film covered all the different phases of Shakuntala Devi's life from the 1940s to the 2000s.
On this, Shalaka says, "Along with looking at the pictures of Shakuntala Devi, we did much research about that period. (Director) Anu Menon told us that at different stages of her life, Shakuntala Devi had made many changes in hairstyle and we also continued to work accordingly.
In the film, we have shown long and short hair. We saw many original videos of Shakuntala Devi on YouTube and took many references from them before finalizing the look. ”
Niharika Bhasin, a stylist, says, "Usually we sit together and do hair, makeup, wardrobe, then all these things come together to create a character's look. We learned about Shakuntala Devi's life, did much research on her and found out what aspects of style and fashion were in vogue during those decades. We included them to re-create the character. "
Directed by Anu Menon, the film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Amit Sadh, and Yeshua Sengupta. The film will be launched on July 31 on Amazon Prime Video.
